I must've looked like a fool today, dancing down the sidewalk jumping on every spotted lanternfly I saw.

But they were absolutely everywhere. I've never before destroyed so much sentient life in one day. (:

Probably so, as in looking like a "fool". I've been hearing about the latest influx of the non-native insects, and the harm they've done and can do.
Knowing that, I'd still for sure have a hard time making myself kill one.

@Piper It's weird. For me, morality is a very cerebral, intellectual exercise; if I can justify doing something, I feel very little or no remorse about doing so... Probably not the safest quality in the world lol. And while I know that killing insects is immoral in a bunch of contexts, I rarely feel a twinge of guilt over it, even if it's not necessary. But I still try not to do it; and in cases like these where it's warranted, I at least do my best to make it quick.

@BlueVeins With fairly rare exceptions, intentionally killing anything is usually a troubling dilemma for me.

@Piper the exceptions better be NIMBYs!
