I Care About The Environment

I was out visiting my Mother today and heard there was almost a natural disaster in the St. Lawrence River near Morrisburg. A laker carrying chemicals went aground last Tuesday. They had to bring in 2 tug boats to pull the Chem Norma off the shoal there. I was able to get a picture of it today on my way home. Fortunately it was upright and no chemical was spilled in the channel.

Oh and it is the Chem Norma. Not Chem Sandy. They are going to raise the water levels to try and raise it off the bottom.
@MethDozer I just modified the name and I was told at the pier in Morrisburg it's already off the sand bar and the 2 tug boats were there pushing it back out into the channel. Apparently the steering had been affected, disabled and the reason it ran aground initially.

@sensualbeauty1 Ahh, They haven't mentioned it on the 6 o'clock news. This morning when they last mentioned it it was still stuck and the plan was to raise the water level next. Must have been very recently they got it off.
@MethDozer I was just there, hence the picture and it's been uprighted and pulled off the shoal. So fortunately no other measures had to be implemented.
