Actually the human population on earth is decreasing rapidly. We just aren't reproducing like we used to.

@hippyjoe1955 In developing countries the gowth rate is 2.5 to 3pc and its huge.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@deevan11 No that is not huge. Look at the vast area of the world where the population is dropping. North America, Europe, Asia, Australia parts of Africa and South America all on the decline. Some of them alarmingly so. You are reading the UN report instead of doing your own research. The UN wouldn't be honest about telling you the time of day.

@hippyjoe1955 ah yes populations declining in the advanced nations.. the ones that pay attention to planetary problmes,, I think this is a bad situation, that said I am not running out and getting pregnant myself...
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Amylynne Shame. You don't understand the earth and how life sustains itself upon it.

@hippyjoe1955 I have some pretty informed ideas about it.not my degree specialty, but I am autodidactally interested in the subject. I am certainly informed about the intricate interlacing of it all, and many of the rules that govenrn it.

@Amylynne no you have the ideas you were told which in the main are wrong. The earth does not wear out nor is the environment destroyed by usage. In fact it is the very opposite. Yes the environment is changed but it is not destroyed. I remember back in high school in the early 70s being told the population was going to triple and there would be mass starvations and wars and mass extinctions why pollution would be so bad you couldn't see a meter in front of you and...... Guess what non of it happened. In fact there is more wildlife now than there was back then. Pollution is largely isolated to under developed countries. We used to see starving children on our TVs in ads seeking aid money. Now those same ads show healthy weight children. The idea that man is some sort of virus that is killing the planet is pure bunkem. Mankind is part of the environment just as a deer is part of her environment.
