A Watershed Year

Many people have said or asked this very resounding question, "Are we in the end of times?" The quandary of that question already has very perplexing realities playing out on the world stage. The times we are living in have produced a significant shift for the future of mankind. It seems as though humanity is powerless in preventing what catastrophes lie ahead.

The whole planet is now ravaged by the wrath of nature due to man induced global warming. The industrial revolutions have gone unchecked in regard to Co2 emissions. Our failure to curb and reduce the devastating effects of what Co2 does to our environment has unleashed many of the rising tempests through-the world. Millions are facing mass migrations as well as local evacuations due to severe weather-related occurrences as a result of what rising temperatures are doing to so many regions around the world.

Ever since the early 1970's the scientific community has warned nations of the dangers of what increasing Co2 emissions are doing to our planet. These warnings have fallen on deaf ears of governments while the Paris Accord of 2015 has not made a significant impact in curtailing the aftereffects of weather-related disasters that continue to wreak havoc in so many places around the globe.

The reluctance of governments especially here in the US and even in China to expedite serious resolve in reducing Co2 emissions have had really no impact curbing severe weather-related catastrophes. Already in 2024, the forecast for the summer Hurricane season has projected to be most severe. The rising levels of both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans have already put regions on notice that very soon many municipalities will soon be under water.

When the Polar icecaps melt as they are the oceans reach a desalination point. The more ice that melts like a chain reaction produce dramatic climate changes often with disastrous results. These disastrous results can be depicted like in the movie The Day After Tomorow. Not a pretty picture of the consequences of what will happen in our future if governments fail to act now. And we are not talking about Electric vehicles either.

We have the technology and the science to procure alternat energy fuel sources to power transportation and at the same time drastically reduce the Co2 emissions that are at current unacceptable levels. The planet and humanities future are at stake. When so many are in denial or the longer, we delay implementing all the resources that science and technology has developed in providing alternate fuel sources the sooner our planet and mankind will be faced with we just may be in the end of times.
