Freaking Ass-wipe

ask a guy if he could grab my cane off the back of the truck, he did then took off running.
his bike is in the truck now. called police figured that the bike was probably stolen,it wasn't but they know the person,and went and got him and my cane..do I want to press charges? nah gave him a broom and dustpan told him to clean the parking lot and empty the trash cans. it's not even my place.
