Psalm 107:35 - "He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs."
God hates wickedness because it takes His children from Him. It turns their hearts and minds away from Him and places them on themselves. God never wants to destroy people, rather that they turn from their wickedness. People like to believe that they are god; that they are in control of everything. To them, people are just animals (evolved from a lower life form). They aren't images of God, but mere "things" for them to use, abuse, and cast aside. Therefore hatred becomes easy; murder commonplace.
Yet despite their wickedness, God still loves His children. He wants them to turn from their evil ways before they are destroyed by them. But they stubbornly refuse.
