What’s the longest you have been without a TV, and how was that for you?

I’ve been without a TV for a week and a half.
Really wish I could watch some tv after a long day.
I have to settle for some YouTube on my iPad or Hulu on my phone

Years and years; and it was and is fine for me!

My parents had a TV I would watch, but selectively.

When I moved into my own home, back in the late-1990s, I did not buy a TV and have not done so since. I don't need one.

The trouble is though, that it does create a sort of novelty value for me so is rather unsociably distracting when I visit anyone (relatives mainly) who go and leave the wretched TV on regardless, unless it's for something we both want to watch anyway.

I obtain all my news, views, information, education and entertainment from the radio.

Sometimes my work entailed a week or fortnight away and I could not watch the television in the hotel room because I have no idea how to operate all those keypad things with anonymously-numbered buttons and no instructions. What disappointed me though was there were no radios in the rooms. (Or were the radio broadcast channels available via the TV with its impenetrable control unit?)

On holiday I can live without TV, radio or newspapers, and my non-Internet portable telephone switched off except for very occasional, very short social-arrangement calls, for two or even three weeks at a time, and have done many times.
