Did he deserve it?
Amir is 16 years old. When he was little, he was kidnapped and placed into a orphanage where all the boys were trained to rob and steal. Once the boys have enough merchandise from stores and gas stations they give it to the orphanage staff.
One night the staff told Amir to rob a small store and if the store clerk attacks then kill them. Unfortunately, the clerk attacked, but Amir spared her life. Instead, he gave her two black eyes, bloody nose, and broke her arm.
When the commander found out that Amir broke the code of conduct and the girl saw his face, the commander used his magic to torture Amir and made him feel like he was being eaten alive by cockroaches. Amir vomited several times. He couldn't sleep properly for months after the ordeal and at some point thought about suicide.
