The way things are now, in the winter if your electric goes off you have no heat. At least with the gas stoves up today you can use the burners. Stoves of the olden days you could use the oven and the oven would definitely heat up much of the house, not today.
They use the excuse of carbon monoxide poisoning that's funny how for decades people used gas stoves with pilot lights and lived, and no carbon monoxide poisoning.

@Strict4u I thought that having gas is hazardous because of carbon monixide.
