how to deal with gas & electricity prices going up

i got an email from my energy supplier earlier on telling that my energy prices are chaging soon....going up......they are bastards i always make them wait until the last minute then i pay it....i hate paying bills...im only on benefits, which is a small sum, why should i pay extortionate prices because of stupid wars happening in other parts of the globe?
