The CPA exam journey [I Passed My Final Exams]

I was a timid girl from a third world country with a big dream. A dream of someday passing all 4 sections of the US CPA exams. I was born and raised in the Jamaican slums but my parents, both uneducated, fought and sacrificed a lot so we could realize our dreams and know that there was life outside of the ghetto and poverty.

I went to university, graduated and started my career in public accounting 4 years ago. To be honest, it has been a rough four years with this job as I've struggled with it. When you're in the professional practice in my firm as an auditor, you are required to sit either the US CPA exams or the UK based ACCA.

Obviously I chose the CPA and my journey started in 2017. I thought because there were only 4 papers to sit, these exams would be a breeze but MAN did I think wrong. I struggled with balancing my exams and my busy work life. I was humbled by these exams. Lots of failures..lots of tears too but if you ask me? Having gotten confirmation that I FINALLY passed my last paper today, IT WAS ALL WORTH IT.

I feel amazing with my accomplishment as there were soooooo many moments where I felt belittled and intimidated by these exams. Lucky for me, quitting was NEVER an option because I knew how powerful these exams were. I had a strong support system at home and I think that contributed to my success.

I wanna say THNK YOU to all my well wishers on here..to every person that has motivated me and comforted me throughout the failures..YOU'RE APPRECIATED!!
