I Want to Teach Special Education

I am currently working as a special ed assistant with 8-10 year old students. The cool think about it is that I was a student at the school I work at now. I have autism but I'm high functioning. That doesn't stop me from what I love to do. My former teachers really helped me and they are giving me awesome tips on how to make sure students are on track and not slacking off. I am currently a part time college student and studying special education because my former teachers now staff members inspired me to be a special ed teacher. I am already at my dream job and I'm very happy where I am. I believe these kids can do this. They are very smart kids and if I can do it, so can they. I love my job.

My sister-in-law taught special ed in a small Oklahoma school for a bit over twenty years, she passed away just a few months after she retired. It can be rewarding and challenging. I can remember her getting a high from making progress with just one student. From what I can see you are well on track.

@lasergraph So sorry about her passing. Yeah it's challenging but rewarding. Thank you =)
