Too old for crushes?

I’ve been talking to this guy for a few days now and I’ve developed a bit of a crush on him. I’m not sure how I feel about it. He’s intimidatingly smart. I didn’t know I was into that. I haven’t had a crush since I was in high school, which was over a decade ago. When he shoots me a message, I get so excited and nervous. It bums me out that I can’t stimulate his brain the way he does mine. I want to be smart enough to counter his banter. I’m cartoon/gaming/manga nerdy. He’s “let me explain the plot in the odyssey” nerdy. We’re planets apart when it comes to brain activity. I’ve never really cared whether or not the person I’m talking to has an intellect. But he’s so smart and it’s just so…. Hot.
