It just seems to me that the more means we have of talking to each other, the less we engage in conversations. I often laugh with my father at how long ago telephone calls abroad had to be pre-booked, for a fixed length of time, and how exciting a "trunk call" was for the whole family. Now... Snap a photo and send it across the world on WhatsApp, hardly makes a ripple.

When I am out having a meal in good company, we consider it best manners to stay off our mobile phones completely. Conversation. A lost art. Best enjoyed face-to-face, but also online, by me.

@sometimeslonelytoo Yes, it is so sad how we lost the ability to have face-to-face conversations. It became too difficult to stay way from our phones.

@Madeleine I've never really liked mobile phones, find them very intrusive. It jars me when mine rings, or I receive a message. The smart in smartphone is what appeals more to the geek in me. I am all-too happy to ignore my phone for the evening when in good company :)
