I Hated Physical Education Class

Just because you hate a lesson, doesn't mean that you're not any good at it. For example, I struggle with maths at school but I am perfectly numerate and have no problem with numbers in everyday life. Likewise, I am very sporty and fit (I run every day and I do gymnastics, yoga and pilates), but I hated PE at school. I hated the teacher, I hated the kit we had to wear, I hated getting changed and showered in front of other girls.

But that is all in the past now 馃槍

Oh Tammie does that mean no more running in gym knickers and bare feet 馃槉
TammieBear22-25, F
@JustKate: Yep. I'll do gymnastics next term, which has to be in bare feet of course, but it will be at a different school and with much better facilities 馃檪
SW-User
@TammieBear: oh new school! Good luck 馃槈
Hope the PE kit is less strict for you.
TammieBear22-25, F
@JustKate: The kit is revolting - purple leotard 馃檮 But there is more space to change in, the gym is cleaner and warmer, and the girls are nicer.
SW-User
@TammieBear: Ugh 馃槕 sounds revolting too. Hope you won't have to wear that thing for regular sports. A leotard for gymnastics is perfect, for anything else it's just ugh.
TammieBear22-25, F
@JustKate: I am in the sixth form. All I will do is gymnastics, because I am helping coach younger girls. Purple is the school colour 馃槦
SW-User
@TammieBear: oh that's cool 馃槑 some girls in my school coached the local primary schoolchildren in PE and gymnastics.
Would you become a PE teacher? It would be good experience for you. 馃槉
TammieBear22-25, F
@JustKate: I would prefer to teach languages, but if I did teach PE I would be much kinder than my old PE teacher who was a real b***h 馃槧 I am going to be paid as a gymnastics coach at summer camp for six weeks in July and August 馃檪

You'll make a wonderful gymnastics coach 馃槉 And a kind one that will lead by example and be in bare feet and a leotard. Unlike my old pe teacher.
TammieBear22-25, F
@JustKate: Thank you! Sometimes I wear leggings to coach, but always bare feet. You can't do gymnastics with shoes on.
SW-User
@TammieBear: exactly! That's what I told my PE teacher but she just ignored me.
TammieBear22-25, F
@JustKate: None of us were allowed to wear shoes in the school gym because they marked the floors, but our teacher always had her trainers on 馃槧
SW-User
@TammieBear: haha 馃槀 was the same at my school. No footwear in the hall/gym no socks either in case you slipped. But teachers all of them were fine to walk in with heels on or trainers. 馃槨
TammieBear22-25, F
@JustKate: A girl in my year slipped in socks and broke her arm last month, so we all know why it is important to go in bare feet.
SW-User
@TammieBear: Luckily that never happened as we all removed our shoes and socks and walked down the filthy corridor to the hall. We all disliked that 馃槖
TammieBear22-25, F
@JustKate: Yeah, but it's still safer even if the floors are dirty. Our gym is across the playground. We have to take off our footwear, get changed, put on our outdoor shoes, then take them off outside the gym.
SW-User
@TammieBear: Sounds like a real waste of time. Why didn't they put the changing room next to the gym?
I'm surprised you was allowed to wear shoes to get to the gym, I think my teacher would have had us go barefoot.
TammieBear22-25, F
@JustKate: It's an old boys' school and the girls' changing room was built later where they could fit it in. You have to walk down a gravel path, so we have to wear shoes to stop getting hurt 馃槙
SW-User
@TammieBear: At least your teacher is considerate enough to allow shoes. Must be all a big fuss taking them on and off.
TammieBear22-25, F
@JustKate: It is utter chaos 馃檮 Shoes all over the place and girls bumping into each other. I hate all the fuss 馃槙
QuietSophie26-30, F
@JustKate: Our teacher made us walk barefoot to the gym in all weather. It was horrible 馃槧
SW-User
@QuietSophie: Poor Sophie! I should count myself lucky my changing room was next to the gym.
QuietSophie26-30, F
@JustKate: You don't know you were born girl, haha! 馃槃
