Mapping things out

In this LB (Learning Buffet) the manner in which it happens is like this:

One of the many beginnings out there has been chosen, and as a whole it is Ancient Greece, which will evolve ever further down chronologically, however there are periods I dread covering and might not cover that much, like the Middle Ages, well for that there's the following

Dante / Boccaccio / Petrarch / and the Chivalric stuff .... I don't feel like going too much if at all in Christendom, unless it's got information to do with Ancient Greece or Rome.

These will be the tools used now:

1. Kindle -- as I consume the material i'm currently on, if I come across an author's work cited, I check with the internet which is always on my lap to see if I can get it free to send to the kindle, if not is it for cheap on Amazon? If not is there an eBook at all, or is there a physical copy? Depending on the perceived importance of the work, I'd be willing to shell out a pretty penny for it when I can.

2. Physical books when I can't get the eBooks

3. YouTube -- lectures, documentaries and anything else where you can learn what you're after.

4. Audible -- books and lectures, maybe a podcast, but podcasts can be found other places, however if I use audible more my listening time on the app increases and I get natural dopamine hits when I see how much i've listened to.

5. SW -- Similar Worlds besides being the means where I can have minimal but pleasant contact with other people, is where my journaling occurs, my posts have been like that so far, and I shall be trying to improve the presentation.

Terrain

First and foremost Greece, with a little bit of Roman, but the whole 20 years will be having this material hot and heavy, but after a couple years I might be having the warm and sizzling side projects taking the studies through the medieval period as sketched above and then the Renaissance, then with modern philosophy, Descartes, Spinoza and those guys, my hope is that by that time I can at least read them without feeling like gouging my eyes out, and also books about and on them to help, I need as much help as I can get, I'll even use up all my funds for that kind of help.

It's too much to word in one go, but the need is the totality of the time period, and the main things are thought and art. Art in the mode of that which can be consumed through reading primarily. This means painting, and visual based products of the distant past isn't what i'm going for.

The visually based is reserved for cinema, and that only came late in the grand history of human achievements, perhaps when I get to someone like Wittgenstein, I'd fit in portions of my collection as a part of the learning buffet, but as things stand now, I better buy a duster to dust off these DVDs and Blu-rays, cuz it's gonna be awhile!!
