		Zero tolerance means they punished the person you bullied as well as you.

		@greenmountaingal Nah, don't think so.

		@MedfordJay That is how they interpret "zero tolerance" in most California schools. Both parties in a fight or violent encounter are punished equally even if one of them is two grades ahead and a foot taller, even if it's obvious to everyone who started the fight.

		@MedfordJay In some schools that’s exactly what it means. The school doesn’t bother to listen to both sides or sort things out; if there’s a fight, everyone involved is suspended.

		@bijouxbroussard It's to avoid law suits. Schools can't afford a team of lawyers.

		@greenmountaingal Is California really that bad? I'm glad I've never been there if it is.

		@greenmountaingal There have been lawsuits over that policy.

		@HairbrushDiva California is a great place to live in many ways. And the worst thing about it is that California does have its faults (and resulting quakes).

		@greenmountaingal They should never, EVER, punish the victim along with the bully. They should ONLY punish the bully, and that's it. I will never kowtow to any system anywhere in the world that punishes victims as well as bullies.
