It was finally time to get a new Christmas tree, and I decided it would be nice to spare my husband his annual cussing of the lights and get one of those LED pre-lit jobs. I looked at all the boxes and, me being me, chose the one with 100 more lights than all the others. If I put the sucker out in the yard, they could probably see it from the space station. 😎🙄😂

It looks great! I remember the days when the kids were young we'd go to a local grower and cut our tree and bring it home. What an ordeal. With the kids grown and no longer in the house it's just not the same. So now it's an artificial tree and to be honest, if it were up to me it might not even get put up.

@WindTherapy we always had an artificial tree when I was growing up so when I first got out on my own I insisted on a great big real tree! Right up until the year it tipped over and I stood there holding it for an hour until my husband got home to help me get it back up. 🤣 I stayed big, but went artificial after that. I’m the Christmas nut in this house so I can’t imagine ever not blinging the house up. My husband couldn’t care less, but he’s nice enough to haul everything up and put the star on the tree so I don’t have to get a ladder out. ☺

@JustNik Sounds a lot like here. Artificial growing up. Then when my wife and I got together it was real trees. I had friends from high school whose parents owned the tree farm. I worked there one winter helping to cut trees for customers. It was interesting watching how folks pick out their tree.

My wife will put the tree up at Thanksgiving but I usually talk her into waiting a little longer. I like the festive look of Christmas but only for a couple weeks before. Of course then she's ready to take it down Christmas night or the day after. 🤦‍♂ This year my daughter was home and brought her boyfriend so they put the tree up. But I'm sure I'll get to take it down and lug it up the stairs to the storage area.

@WindTherapy an invaluable service you provide! 😄
Got a few of these boxed and lying around.
Their no fuss appeal got me.

The fiber optic or LED light takes some getting used to. What they lack in authentic hue, they make up for in intensity.

Though, I'm still a sentimental sap for a real tree. If I can troubleshoot the string lights and static cling tinsel without getting committed; I may do a traditional next year.

@SethGreene531 Best of luck to you! 😄

Beautiful. We did the same thing replacing an old pre-lit tree. I about died at the cost - $400!!! 😵

@Livingwell yep they’ve gotten up there with everything else!

Oh I`m sure they can see it inside.

Looks good.
Dang girl, it’s beautiful, but my eyes would burn. I like incandescent lights.

@deathfairy we used LED string lights on the old tree and it was fine. I think I just didn’t need the tree with 100 more lights than all the others. Greed bit me. 😂

Looks like the perfect amount of lights to me.

But the battle with the lights is the point ... isn't it? 😂
Save on electricity by turning out the overhead light...
JustNik · 51-55, F
@HootyTheNightOwl I don’t even need a lamp on now. Just turn on the tree. 😂👍
@JustNik Exactly what I was thinking... 🤣🤣🤣
