Did you know: Sharks live in an active underwater volcano?

sharks live in an active underwater volcano, and divers can be in danger near it:
Location
The volcano is called Kavachi and is located in the South Pacific, off the coast of the Solomon Islands.
Discovery
In 2015, a National Geographic expedition discovered sharks living in the volcano's crater. The sharks included hammerheads, silky sharks, and reef sharks.
Environment
The volcano's environment is hot, acidic, and methane-ridden. Divers who have gotten close to the volcano have had to back away because of the heat or mild skin burns from the acid water.
Danger
The volcano can be extremely dangerous for divers, even when it's not spewing molten lava.
Robots
Scientists have sent robots into the volcano to better understand the harsh environment. The robots are designed to be low cost, disposable, and autonomous.
Eruptions
Kavachi began an eruptive phase in October 2021, and satellite data showed discolored water around it in April and May 2022.
Name
The volcano has been dubbed "Sharkcano" because of the sharks that live there.

I’m not sure if that is National Geographic or a James Bond movie.
