Did you know? Let's talk about the Vampire Squid

This is a long one, I found it fascinating so i went on and looked further into it.

Diet
The vampire squid is a detritivore, which means it eats dead organic material, including poop, snot, and dead animals. This diet is unique among cephalopods, which are other squid and octopuses that typically use their suckers and arms to capture prey.
Feeding method
The vampire squid uses two long filaments that extend from its body to capture "marine snow", which is a collection of dead animals, poop, and snot that sinks down from the ocean surface:
The squid lets the filaments drift and collect bits of waste.
The squid wipes the filaments across its arms to combine the waste with mucus secreted from its suckers.
The squid forms balls of food and gobbles them up.
Lifestyle
The vampire squid's passive approach to finding food allows it to live in environments that are too difficult for most predators to survive in. It has an extremely energy-efficient lifestyle because it doesn't have to spend energy building muscles and chasing down live animals.
Scientific name
The vampire squid's scientific name is Vampyroteuthis infernalis, which literally means "vampire squid from hell".

SECOND PART
a vampire squid is not a squid, but it is a close relative:
Classification
The vampire squid is the only living member of the Vampyroteuthidae family, and is in its own order within the phylum Mollusca.
History
When it was discovered in 1903, it was initially classified as a type of octopus. However, scientists later determined that it was neither an octopus nor a squid, but rather a member of a different group.
Features
The vampire squid has characteristics of both squid and octopuses, including webbing between its arms and a pair of fins on its mantle. However, it also has unique features, such as photophores that produce flashes of light, and two velar filaments that are used for filter feeding.
The vampire squid is a small cephalopod that lives in the deep ocean, where it eats dead things that float down. It has many other unique features, including:
Eyes: The vampire squid has the largest eyes in proportion to its body of any animal.
Color: The vampire squid is dark in color, with bright red eyes.

Webbing: The vampire squid's arms are connected by a velvety, cloak-like webbing.
Bioluminescent mucus: The vampire squid can release a large cloud of bioluminescent mucus to distract predators.
Pumpkin position: The vampire squid can turn itself inside out to hide its photophores from predators.
The vampire squid's scientific name is Vampyroteuthis infernalis, which means "vampire squid from hell".
