Softball. As a kid growing up on the farm, I threw rocks all the time. At roosters, at cows, at rabbits, at stray dogs...and I hit them. Daddy thought I should try softball. He brought home a borrowed (broken in) glove and a few softballs and went and grabbed his glove. At first, I couldn't throw the ball very well, and that enraged me. Then Daddy yelled at me for being hard-headed and slammed the door when he went into the house. He never did that, and I felt doubly bad for not only upsetting him but for being ridiculous. I threw that night in the barn until my fingers blistered. Ultimately, I had a D1 scholarship to pitch in college. Daddy knows best! 🤗
