I Enjoy Intelligent Conversations

Increasingly I find this difficult to find on SW. Every thread will have someone either making fun of a serious topic, try and shove thier opinions on others, get rude and all riled up and rant. Where's humbleness and humility? To understand that an opinion besides yours is perfectly understandable and makes things more interesting?
Knowledge is infinite. We are finite. If we seek with openness of mind and heart and listen to others we learn and we grow.
I just wish there was a way that one could avoid some of the smart ass people around here who seem to relish at the prospect of spoiling every decent conversation.

Only way, I feel is to get to find likeminded minds and enjoy the productive discussions. (Not to mention that that finding took me around more than two years to lose them to EP shutdown or life's whirlpool.)

Nimeru/justmerae : well I am incredibly patient and have a high threshold for tolerance. In the last four years since I have been on EP and now SW I have only blocked 2 people and gotten blocked once. So I am usually very calm. And I understand the goofing, silliness and being fun here and I like it too. It's the rudeness and name-calling that I don't like. And I feel that sometimes you feel there's is a dearth of stimulating conversation that's cerebral and respectful.

Silentspectator : I agree. I am making some good contacts here too. Makes it worthwhile :)

I see no reason to be rude and if someone misunderstands my playfulness for rudeness they need to let me know, I can curb it, if needed.
Everyone is very different and sometimes you hit a nerve without meaning to.

I don't mind smart arses..I just hate pious prissy up their own arses who decide to take over your post and turn it into something it's not. Had enough.

Sorry, I am a smart-ass at times.
I try to be serious were it is warranted, but silliness must have its time to for me, as well.
I hope you find what you want, but this is a free for all so you are going to get many different responses. I try very hard not to be rude.
I tend to ignore what I don't like which keeps my blood pressure relatively low.

It is the sign of the times, sadly, being easily offended.
Where's humility? I wonder it too. It seems that in a world where everybody thinks they are special there is no place left for it.
