There's No Need To Insult - ?
It isn't necessary to insult any of your friends or neighbors. There is a gulf between insults and teasing wit.
The same goes for your family. When I moved into my second apartment just over a year ago, the first thing my brother (who brought me) said when we got out of the car was "Shut up." I looked at him, and he said, "Don't say a word. I'LL do the talking,"
Okay, so sometimes I stuttered, I couldn't help it when I did.
The realtor was very pleasant and knowledgeable. But every question she asked us, my brother answered and bragged about my smart niece. When we got to the lobby again and sat down, the relator looked my way, smiled, and said, "Are you the youngest?"
Before my brother could answer, I said, "No. I'm the oldest."
He didn't say another word for the rest of the interview.
He insulted my intelligence - but I didn't answer in kind. After all, I DID get the apartment.
