theres a debate going on in a nearby state over rather the legislature should bann corporal punishment in schools statewide. currently its up to the individual school system if allowed or not. the arguement is that a large percentage of kids paddled are kids with special needs. my nana and i were talking about this morning she said she knew of a punishment worse than the paddle that my uncle whose high fuctioning autistic's teacher used on his class. she locked them in a room that was about the size of a supply closet. she even went to the school and told them shed rather they paddle my uncle than do that. it took her and several other parents going to the schoolboard to have this teacher stopped. so which in reality is worse do you think. before you ask i myself don't condone paddling special needs studends

One is just as bad as the other. Special children needs a special kind of love. And locking them up or whacking them isn't right.

@SimplyTracie i agree my nana's point was that there in her opinion was worse ways they could handle misbehavior with a special needs kid. like i said my uncle is very high functioning in fact he lives on his own has a job and needs very little support now. but in that classroom there was a wide variety of disabilities and severity of them. in fact act after the 2nd year he was in the teachers class my uncle was mainsreamed.

Interesting nana you have. You're lucky 🍀 to have these conversations with her.
