How do you keep yourself motivated to continue your studies?

I'm battling depression and sometimes it's just... too much. I end up procrastinating and getting frustrating then become more depressed. It's my last year in uni but I'm afraid I won't make it.
That question is so easy for me because I went through it. Here's my line for you: Would you rather suffer 5 years and profit 40 or the other way around?

Background:
I graduated high school, I graduated vocational college (no, that's not real college) and I went out into the world applying for jobs. You have no idea how much I was treated as pure dirt, as shit, as insignificant, as a hobo - by everyone, by the government; no one caring you exist, people offending your intelligence, everything.
So after that episode I decided: "That's it, that's enough, I won't be disrespected anymore", so I got and fought tremendously hard for a Bachelor's degree and I got it, I got my respect, my future guaranteed employability and my stability. I'll have you know that 85% of my class gave up eh, they gave up along the way and now they're working in factories, minimum wage.
Yeah love, that's not my lifestyle. I want some respect in my life.

I hope this helps!
You've made it so far, the finish line is in sight, so you know you can make it..

Depression is another challenge, sometime the meds you take can fog you up leading to difficulties in studying and procrastination. You should chat with your doc and see if there is anything else than can be recommended (dose, type etc)

You need a confidence boost, to believe in yourself and get both these challenges under control..
@emera: Not being funny, but what's stopping you making a call or appointment on your own, it's your health unless there's something else you're not mentioning...

@Majorlatency: A trip to my psychiatrist is a bit expensive here and our health insurance doesn't cover it. My parents are very religious. They believe I'll be fine if they 'rebuke' the 'evil spirit' that cause my illness and I just read the bible 😐
@emera: I will drop you a line...

Try taking little breaks to get completely away from it. Leave it all behind and go take a walk in the park and enjoy the day. You may think you don't have the time but you'd just be procrastinating instead. Now you're taking a break with purpose and releasing some of that stress.

@Halcyon: Thank you. I guess I should do that tomorrow ☺

@emera: Next opportunity, no sense in sitting around, beating your brains in and getting nothing done. 👍

Perhaps you are alone .. not having a companion.. find one preferably a class mate who you can care for .. and cared for in exchange ..

Loneliness leads to depression cause we don,t get motivation which is like fuel which we need often ..

@in10RjFox: Maybe but no one would be stupid enough to be burdened by me tho

@emera: that does not mean you lean on them entirely and make them carry you .. you hook up with them to get company ..

@in10RjFox: okay. I'll try that 😊

There is just no one concrete way but my guess is that the fear of failure you have right now will land you safe. Keep experimenting ways like setting a schedule, post it cards, or having someone to monitor your progress etc. Good luck :)

@wanderingsoul: thanks. My psychiatrist give me some tips like those too. It's helping me a little ☺

Good luck with that 🍀

At those times you just DO. You don't think about your motivation and you don't ask yourself how you feel about what you're doing, you just DO
