It's pretty disgusting when a society destroys historical statues because they are offended. Oh my gawd. Is it so awful to have a pair of testicles?

@masterofyou: My husband is a navy vet from USS Prairie and USS Texas CGN39. We visited the Intrepid last year and I can't imagine an America that's so delicate in sensibilities that monuments to veterans and heroes are just ripped apart.

@Kimmler: There are heroes in each war, one every side. Life isn't always black and white, sometimes it is. Ridiculing doesn't solve anything.

@Kimmler: You can be proud of our veterans while still believing the war they were sent to fight was wrong. I will ALWAYS be proud of our military, and particularly of those who fought in Viet Nam. Reason being, they went while the cowards fled. They deserve our respect regardless of how you feel about that war.

@katielass: Truth. I'm still a pacifist when it comes to my individual self but I still respect the police who would help me. And I was a strong pacifist in the past when I was still living in my community but veterans are still hugely respected and supported even if we didn't join in to the military willfully.

@Kimmler: As I recall everyone was losing WWII until we finally stepped in. And frankly, we got into VN because the french weren't doing so well and they begged our help. But that's neither here or there. We lost VN because of the damned left and their idiocy. You don't win a war with your hands tied behind your back and if that's all you can do you'd be better off not bothering.
