Godzilla versus King Kong?

@Serenitree: sure, but in the original 'zilla used to spend almost all of his time underwater. and everytime I've heard of a land/tree based critter tangling with anything that makes water its home, in the water.. land based critter is waterlogged toast.

I've been thinking too much about this and I wonder if it's a ... like .. hippie message sorta thing. Kong is kinda like the pure force of nature; he comes from a 'land that time forgot' - he's all natural, straight out of the jungle. couldn't be more pure.
'zilla was created because of man's hubris. radiation and crazy stuff all that. he's kinda like an unintended future we made for ourselves by not safeguarding technology, chemicals, et al. so they kinda kinda have to make forces of nature overcome man made things.

at least that's my theory.

@DeadCowboy: you have given this a lot more thought than I have. I wonder if the producers/writers/filmmakers have thought along the same lines?
