@theowl: the teacher is the difference for home schoolers. my dad has me on a routine, chores, class time, study time, class time study, chores, "homework". i turned 16 last january. i graduate high school this year after testing out of 2 grades. gpa 4.0 i go to the school 2 days a week for 2 classes to met my requirements i am unable to meet at home. this also allows me to attend any school function. however most of my social learning with people my own age is from 4h, ffa, and horse shows and rodeos.
i respectfully say, you can't group all kids in any category. not all home schoolers are a certain way, not all public school students are a certain way and not all private school students are a certain way.
