Whats the deal with valentines day ?

we dont have that in my home country... is it like a national orgy or what ?

it is a day invented and promoted by the greeting card industry. it has been taken over by plant killers - i mean flower-shops.

Cards, flowers, candies, bakery items (cupcakes, cookies, etc.), expensive jewelry, restaurant meals, stuffed animals, decorations, etc....a lot of different companies making a small fortune off this. I didn't realize how many people bought stuff for Valentine's Day till I went to a Homeland Store on Valentine's weekend one Saturday and stood in a long line and saw every other person with their shopping carts loaded with Valentine's items.
