Footnotes Question?

I'm writing a research paper using footnotes for the first time. Can you use the same footnotes reference on multiple pages? Is there a certain format when you have to do that?

I would suggest that you get a book outlining how to do various things. Your teacher should be able to tell you which one they prefer. Kate L Tarabian (not sure on spelling of last name) is the author of the one I used last time I wrote a paper. I believe that when you use the same reference a second time you can just site the name of the book and the page number, unless you are referencing the same book as the last footnote, which then you would use Ibid and the page number. Not positive, though. Was close to 30 years ago that I did that.
