So instead of helping with the problem Sec McMahon makes it worse!

[media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOOkdAYzg_Y]

Secretary of Education Linda McMahon over new federal loan caps that could make it harder for nursing students to afford graduate programs at the exact moment states are already facing serious nurse shortages.

McMahon argued the caps would help lower college costs. Omar challenged that claim directly, pointing out that limiting public loan access could push students toward private debt instead of solving the shortage. The exchange turned into a sharp confrontation over nursing, education access, and whether the Department of Education is making an existing crisis worse.

This is about more than one hearing. It is about who gets to afford advanced nursing education, who benefits when public loans are capped, and what happens when policy decisions collide with a health care workforce shortage.

Is the idea that education expensive because money is too readily available? Are the prices for degrees inflated because the schools know that they can get whatever they want?

It seems like they're playing a game of chicken.

It might be the same for health insurance. Restrict or eliminate all health insurance and mal practice awards, medical device licence fees, drug import restrictions, and then see if hospitals lower their fees or just go out of business.
