Student debt is a poverty tax on low income families

Students who have to take out loans to go to school wind up paying more than rich people who just pay out of pocket up front.

Ultimately, it's a form of punishment for being low income and wanting higher education.

Correct?

Nope, I personally know of someone who had the ability to pay. Racked up a bunch of student loans and then sat there and told me with an attitude of entitlement that the government was going to forgive all her debt.
Who ultimately gets to pay that debt?
The working taxpayer.
