So how is socialization even a argument any more for homeschooling.

I taught a few kids that were homeschooled and then put into a public school. Lots of unusual behaviour and expectations. Like in the 6th grade after assigning work to one of them he just sat there, (quietly at least). When i asked why he wasn’t working he asked me if it was OK if he could just do nothing. He didn’t want to do his work. I guess that must have been ok at home….
Another girl grade 5 could not cope with being in a classroom at all. Also by the end of the year she couldn’t name any of the kids she had been hanging around with all year. “I don’t know their names” she told me.
But hey, at least we don’t have school shootings here.

@DoubleRings sounds like you delt with a crappy few parents. They probably put them in because they didn't know what they were doing. My children go to a co op where they have to sit in classes 2x a week. They also attend sports. And strike up a conversation with everyone. Everyone says they don't have shootings there...... I graduated in a class of 42 my school was small and rural. We had a threat 4 years after I graduated. Found your blessings that it is yet to happen.

@chickiegirl95 school shootings are not a thing where I live. Shootings even in general are not a thing here.
