hmmm i thought they didn't fail students anymore unlike back in my day
@beermeplease I had to repeat 7th grade because two retiring teachers hated me constantly correcting them, they used my years long homework boycott against me. That forced the school to put me into special ed, where the teacher discovered I had scored a 148 at the beginning of 3rd grade in september 1978, she told the principal that my tests and quizes were off the chart and should have been skipped to 9th grade, not held back. The principal refused and said I was being made an example to other homework boycotters. It was in the middle of nowhere god damned fucking cornbilly hayseed hicksville iowa.

@NativePortlander1970 that sounds brutal. i never failed a grade but i did have to take summer school once for social studies 11. of all the social studies teachers at that school the one i had was strict as hell. one time he figured i smoked pot at lunch because he could smell weed. i denied it when he asked me and looked around who was sitting near me...he asked me if i was sure i didn't smoke weed but i denied it again. he knew i was lying. ended up giving me an "incomplete" when i probably should have gotten a c- ...i had better grades than most of my buddies but they all past with a different teacher...lol of just about all my buddies i was the only one who graduated high school...they had to take ged later on
