Any SWeeps who work in education?

How bad is it? Is it as bad as they say?
I don't, but I have a family member whom does, and it sounds like teachers are consistently being out in no win situations, hung out to dry and no one is listening to their ideas for improvements.

Basically it's a war between parents, vs parents vs principal vs a few teachers and they're caught in the middle with the students, trying to get them through without catching any shrapnel, and everyone blaming the teachers if they do, but majority of the teachers aren't the ones firing anything.

At least that's the summary I got....

Also, long hours outside of work for no pay... which have to be done or you'll be unprepared for during the day.

It was ok but parents are tough. One must be very careful interacting with kids. No non sense very aware and sensitive parents will hear everything and are likely to object. I still work in education but not with kids amymore so its a lot of balance and careful tip toeing especially the younger the kids. Now im in education administration not one on one.

I certainly believe in and am a big proponent in School Choice and Educational Savings Accounts. Using and building up Local Resources would ameliorate most of the utter failure in Education that we have now. I know for a fact that Parents have always had the good sense to know what's best for their Children rather than any Educrat/Bureaucrat from the Education Department. Local Resources and Communities always work in the best interests of the Parents and their Children.

Parents should always be in the Driver's Seat of Education along with Teachers and other Faculty to provide the best Education for the Pupils and reflect THE PARENT'S values. Whether it's Parochial, Private, Religious, or Homeschooling; Parents know best how to find the right Educational resources and the best Schools for their Child, that's the way it should've been to begin with.

If you decide to work in education, go private. Public school kids are horrendous
Yes. Maybe even worse.

Being attacked by parents and politicians on a near daily basis. Receiving death threats from magats. Triggering every conservative snowflake that exists. Having your own children receive threats from grown ass adults threatening to r*pe and or kill them for not being straight white Christian males.

Yeah it's fucking bad.
