No, you are not at all "too old"!
I believe good Professors always welcome students who truly WANT to be there, rather than students who wander through their programs and could either be there or not.
Show your thirst for knowledge & self-improvement, and I think that they will respond in a positive, supportive fashion.
Don't think of 24 as "too old"! It's a PERFECT age.
