Are you proud of America?

I'm not.

Leave then.
Socialclutz · 36-40, M
Yes for the first time in 8 years I'm proud of being an American.
Shade70 · 51-55, M
I am proud of America. I am not proud of all Americans, nor will I blindly say that everything we've done as a nation has been good when viewed through a global lens, or for that matter even our own. Our interventionist policies have created fires that later generations had to (And will have to) extinguish. But the vision that is america...damn proud of it. Just wish we did a better job of living up to it.

Yes. I'll just skip the genocide and slavery for now. We enriched and relocated the worst of Hitlers Nazi's. We performed deadly experiments on our own military. We permanently ruined south pacific archipelago's. We've posited and deposed ruthless dictators, and supported the worst human rights violators in history. We've sold weapons to both sides of warring factions and countries. We've exploited and coerced third world nations. We've used napalm on people living in grass huts. We've ruined countless lives and broken countless hearts in the name of filthy lucre. The list goes on and on. Yet, I'm very patriotic and very proud of my country. You should have seen my basic training picture. My nose was so far up in the air I would have drowned if it was raining! What the hell is wrong with me?

I am thankful of America for doing everything for me, but I'm not proud of being one. Just understand I'm not saying America is bad. There are a lot of actions that America has done that I strongly disagreed of how it had been done.

No country is mistake free... blaming
A country as a whole , in real time , for the indiscretions of our forefathers is nothing short of asinine ...especially this country. The last bastion of freedom , recently strengthened by our last election .

I think Trump is low life pond scum and I'm proud of America. It's gonna be ok.
Yes I am. A lot of people take for granted what they actually have here.

Stress much?
Kingfish · 31-35, M
Cool, are you proud of any country?
Kingfish · 31-35, M
@uilesd: Can you answer the question please?
uilesd · 22-25, M
@Kingfish: No as each has their own dark history.
Kingfish · 31-35, M
@uilesd: Indeed.

Within all those achievements are lies and agendas that not only could have been handled differently but also showed the very corruption itself within America. Even in the most historical people.
Jakey75 · 61-69, M
@uilesd: the good that the USA brought and continues to bring to the world vastly outweighs the negative.
uilesd · 22-25, M
Like I said it could have been done differently.
The native Americans were not only forced off their land but killed in the process.
The philippines not only gained their independence from Spain with America's help, who promised them independence, but broke it and annexed them into US with force.
The independence of Panama was done with US bribing and other corrupted acts to build the Panama canal.
The continent ?

United States when we talk America, because that's how US is, thinking America is their's only.
Sharon4now · M
is america proud of you?
uilesd · 22-25, M
How should I know? People respect me, and I respect them. I help charity not for America but for the people but it could be interpreted in many ways.
