Why do women have longer life expectancy than men?

A multitude of reasons. Women typically have lower blood pressure for one, and since heart disease is a major killer, that bodes well for them. Testosterone has the effect of shortening lifespan somewhat as well, though that effect is usually quite small in humans. Additionally, women are more likely to seek medical help when needed, and less likely to engage in risky behaviors compared to males.
