Oh Look Once Again NewsAnnounces Child Protection Is Broken

Why am I not surprised that this announcement been made once again something I have been saying for years . The whole system needs completely overhauled and staff better training and alot more money put into the system . A lack of staff training and over all staff numbers and a lack of money is all to blame . We need proper education for those going into the industry and not a rushed college degree . It takes education and on the job training while being educated . Experience is the best education and shouldnt be rushed . Just because you can pass a written exam doesnt mean you are qualified . Newly educated students need at least 2 years on the job training as well . They need time to practice what they have learnt and put it into practice while being watched . With this very sensitive industry , you cannot just throw them in the deep end as this is when mistakes are made . If this government are really serious they need to make money available for proper education and training which is going to take several years before we have young people coming into the industry with proper training and experience to make the changes neccessary . There has to be insentive to make people want to work in different industries which just isnt there at the moment and well qualified teachers and trainers which are also sadly lacking .

How is it broken though?

@SW-User Its a lack of education , lack of qualified experienced staff and a lack of financial support . Its not a quick fix . It needs proper education including on the job training by properly qualified and experienced teachers and trainers and the financial backing to make it all possible .

@Rhode57 If child protection is broken I don't think those are the reasons for it. If anything people are overqualified and possibly too educated now. If you're specifically alluding to how things are in the U.K I would say there's too much overreach and too much supervision from the state. This country is very bureaucratic and in truth it has some really strange laws.
