Do you think a parent can be afraid of their child?

I have a parent that doesn’t want to put additional stress on her child. Therefore her “child should not have to learn cursive.”

Why would a mom say that? She must be afraid of her daughter!

The schools are relaxing their standards with a lot of that material and parents end up agreeing.
Cursive is important. Spelling and grammar too and I understand they are rarely taught anymore...
