I work 14 hour days trying to keep teenagers alive and out of jail long enough to maybe see some life.
Of course, some don't make it.
They die in damp, derelict basements mid-winter with a needle in their arm. Nobody goes to their funerals, except me.
The Queen is a figurative head of state. Just like a U.S. president is much of the time.
All they do is the odd speech, photo op and the travel.
Crumpets don't appeal to everyone. Just as Bagels don't in the U.S. either.
Pubs are generally places where folk go to socialise.
We drink beer here. Not that watery piss you call the same.
And even then, not on a regular basis.
I quit drinking fifteen years ago having watched a client die in a hospital bed having been an alcoholic all his life.
So there you go.
