Which degree did you get at university?

If you didn't go to university don't waste your typist finger commenting!

I have a B.A. in English Lit. Spent my whole working life in restaurants and retail. Never made more than $10 an hour (after 12 years) and now I live in a van down by the river!

I'm an actuarial science student.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@BlueVeins I studied that for a while, and I was considering becoming an actuary. But then I came to the realization that I probably enjoyed the courses more than I would enjoy actually working as an actuary. And that told me that, yeah, I was really cut out for mathematics instead.

Where I teach, a number of our math majors take the exams and become actuaries when they graduate. So I'm glad I studied it a little, because I can talk with those students in a meaningful way. And I've supervised a couple of Independent Studies in actuarial science.

@TexChik Until recently, I did not know what an LLM was. My nephew earned one a few years ago.

He says that if he had worked that hard as an undergraduate, he would have finished his BA in two years!

@DrWatson it’s not necessary but is preferred to get certified as a legal specialist in Texas . With my firm footing the bill and allowing the time... it wasn’t all that difficult ...
