Anyone been smacked in front of the class at school?

When I was at school it was not unusual for misbehaving kids to be summoned to the front of the class and given a few smacks on the behind with a hand or a slipper. Anyone else had this experience?

I have seen a few but in our school the teachers usually took the students to the back of the class or into the hall .. .. on the rare occasions it was done in front of everyone .... ....

In my school and in my husband's school, classroom slipperings were always administered in front of the class.
