Past and current teachers: Any teacher supply must haves ?
I’m starting my first year of teaching in August (3-5 special education) and I’m trying to be proactive.

A laptop of the right brand with the right operating system to be compatible with the systems used by your school, plus at least one external hard drive from regular back-ups.
Mobile phone in good condition, set on silent & buzz during class-time, needed in case of emergency.
Comfortable shoes. Brightly coloured but modest clothes. (Bright colours help to attract and hold attention, making classroom discipline easier with that age group.)
A huge handbag for carrying your personal supplies, including a healthy packed lunch.
