Now - that may not seem funny but if you've ever seen the South Park "Awsome-O" 2000 episode, they ask him a question about wood chucks chucking wood and he answers.."17"....like I say, may not seem funny now but someday someone will ask you a similar question and if you don't know the answer...just say "17"...it's trending!

I'm confused. The formula for centripetal acceleration is v^2/r. If the object is at rest, then v = 0, and so it seems to me that the centripetal acceleration would initially be 0 rather than 2. Is there any more to the problem than what you have stated here?
