@Distancerunner: i plan to major in history and minor in education in college. i love history though some of my high school teachers have pushed me to become a college level teacher or historian rather than high school. because as my us history teacher put it last year before i became a homeschooler. id be a waste on high schoolers cause all you do is teach the book pratically

@sassygirl15:Not the text so much as the performance standards.

If you are serious, get the advanced degrees and work at a university.

@Distancerunner: thats what im thinking about even if its just as a part time teacher. cause i plan to homeschool my children but as i know from my grandfather who is a college professor. college teachers dont have as strict of schedules as regular school teachers. he taught part time for years before retiring from his main job and becoming a full time professor a few years ago. My dad is the youngest and was born when my grandparents were in their late 30s.

@sassygirl15: what I would advise is start reading everything you can get your hands on...
If you aren't a strong writer, become one...
You will read more than almost any other discipline.

i read alot already historical fiction and christian fiction is mostly what i read. but i love history nonfiction as well. I write alot i never know i may chose to write and research with my degrees instead of teach.

@sassygirl15: As a college level instructor the expectation is that you will research and teach.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@Distancerunner: that makes sense. i take 2 college lvl courses right now. one is math and another is a college lvl economics course that doubles as my high school requirement.

Very good!

@Distancerunner: yes i have homeschooled since i had to go on homebound my freshman year due to a medical treatment i was taking at the time. 2 weeks into it i actually had to stop taking the medical treatment due to being pregnant, but i liked the homeschooling so i decided to become a permanent homeschooler which really is easier with a kid least i my case. i also didnt have to go back to the medical treatment because pregnancy with alopecia which is what i have can in fact trigger your hair to start growing. mine started growing and hasnt stopped a year later.

@sassygirl15: it's great that you had that option and acted on it!
