Common misconception about ancient times

Chopping someone’s head off with a guillotine was actually considered humane. It wasn’t meant to be brutal at all.

Also, supposedly, a chopped off head can survive for about thirty seconds. I wonder what that’s like. 🤔 Probs not fun.

While we’re at it, fun fact: the origin of ghosts looking like sheets (like in my pic) comes from depictions of ghosts wearing burial shrouds.

The dark ages, while admittedly slow, did make some scientific, math, agriculture, and hygiene progress. It was a myth created by renaissance writers to really drive home how enlightened they were.
