when did education become a burden?

Learning is something to be valued and enjoyed yet I feel like at some point in my life I just learned to dread school. Was it something I learned from friends or siblings or the media? School is supposed to be fun, right?

Schooling is a bad system.. as you are stuffed with all sorts of information before you need it .. its like you being forced to take all medicines before you fall ill ..

Similarly its like expecting a 6 year old to lift 50 kgs .. when the same can be lifted easily when the person is 15 ..
@in10RjFox Kids are pitted up against one another for political reasons. Then they (from different classes) can never trust one another again.
That's child abuse.

@Stilltryinghard True.. schools promote gangs and groupism at an early stage .. that bear a lot of influence on an individual.. many things take root due to schools..

@in10RjFox is that a school issue? or does grouping/othering stem from larger social structures like gender, race, class? or does school provide an outlet to further those distinctions?
@in10RjFox Just the system of grading can do it, don't need much else although the other things aggravate it.

And then they get tender hearted about bullying?

Why shouldn't kids from different classes mistrust one another? Do the administrators REALLY think the idea that everyone can mingle in gym and the class play...fools most kids? It does not.

Conventional schooling reinforces the idea that competition is the best way to academically succeed and by extension...succeed in life.

When the truth is this is a vicious capitalistic lie, and in our post capitalistic era this competition stuff is literally killing us as a human family.

@lka2802 think and you will know school is where everything starts to thrive .. things spread like disease mind to mind .. and young minds start to conspire ..

And it is seniors who start influencing juniors primarily because they gain access to them .. so why should students of all levels be in one.. instead why not have just one school for a particular and carry them all the way instead of intake every year .

@Stilltryinghard just anything and everything is competition and comparison.. Conduct a race for anything and everything .. and use the performance to grade or degrade .. and conduct a mockery by inviting all parents and put them to shame .. to only push their inability under the carpet.
@in10RjFox well put.

@Stilltryinghard calibrate is the word I could not recall.. the sysyem implants so many controls /hooks in a child .. for society to pull or turn ..

@in10RjFox I agree with everything you both are saying! But then that begs the question that if we do not have grades, how do we motivate kids as well as ensure they are learning/retaining the information?

@lka2802 The grades are for the educators as how good their pedagogy is. It was never meant for parents. If our child's grade is low, it means their method of teaching is wrong.. tests were introduced to have a check on school only .. but they smartly turned it around on us ..😂😂

They are supposed to be experts and reason why we send our children. Why do I need a school if I can do it myself. And many parents home school for that reason.
