School/college is the most depressing thing I’ve ever dealt with and I will not force it on my children

Education doesn’t equal intelligence, anyway. It’s not worth your mental health

Some of my ancestors didn’t have access to formal education. When they finally did, it brought the family out of poverty. My parents, siblings and I all finished school, and we’re now helping my niece attend Stanford. When she’s stressed, there’s a counselor whom she sees and she’s taking classes at the pace that is comfortable for her. I don’t regret having gone, and overall it’s been an advantage. I’m hoping it will be the same for her.

@bijouxbroussard Stanord is lowkey toxic af, but also great at the same time. Like, they use the stories for low income students to get donations, then make us write a fuck ton of thank you postcards that their rich asses won't ever fuckin read. And there's SKETCHY ass shit going on in the University Archives, too. Like, I'm genuinely not even surprised that there's an admissions scandal because letters were right there for any kid doing work study to go read. Stanford is lowkey garbage. The only reason I'm going there now is because it's free.
