@SimplyTracie As early as they understand all of what this is. Years ago, all children learned these skills. They had too. Look at me in my time for instance. When I was a Cub Scout , we wore a pocket knife as part of the uniform . And that was to school! In Boy Scouts we were cooking and heating with fire. Using axes and hatchets to chop wood and machetes! I remember some country boys having fifles and racks in their trucks.....in the school parking lot!.........kids were just really responsible back then because we were taught at younger ages. You never hardly heard of trouble or violence, using weapons even when they were accessible. WTF happened! Things have really changed and most will suffer greatly in a SHTF snenerio!....Really sad:(

@Oster1 Things have changed a lot. Pocket knives aren’t allowed on campus as far as I know. I think it's great to encourage scouting. I don’t know if all that should be on K-5 curriculum.
